Nassfeld in the Gailtal valley is famous for its excellent Alpe-Adria cuisine. Whether it's spicy Gailtaler Speck PGI (bacon), traditional Gailtaler Almkäse PDO (mountain cheese) or tasty Kärntner Kasnudeln (Carinthia noodles) – good taste reigns in the world's first Slow Food Travel Region.
But there is more to taste than simply fine Alpine delicacies. Thanks to the geographical proximity to Italy, fans of Mediterranean cuisine will also enjoy fish from crystal-clear local waters or from the Adriatic Sea.
