ICE SKATING

in the winter wonderland

 

An unique ice experience becomes reality at Lake Weissensee in Carinthia. The 6.5 km² Weissensee is the largest permanently frozen and well prepared natural ice surface in Europe. From mid-December to the beginning of March, the up to 40 cm thick ice cover attracts numerous ice sports enthusiasts who enjoy the unique scenery.

 

This natural ice rink can be enjoyed to the full in just 30 minutes by car from Burgl's Apartments. Ice skates can be hired directly on site.

 

Lake Presseggersee

With reeds up to three meters high and countless species of fish, the lake is rightly known as Carinthia's natural jewel.In winter, a thick layer of ice covers the lake very close to us.In particularly cold winters, Lake Presseggersee freezes over completely, revealing a true Eldorado for ice skaters.
